A Hong Kong design student's poignant tribute to Apple founder Steve Jobs became an internet hit Thursday with its minimalist, touching symbolism and brought a job offer and a flood of commemorative merchandise using his design. Nineteen-year-old Jonathan Mak, a student at Hong Kong's Polytechnic University School of Design, came up with the idea of incorporating Steve Jobs' silhouette into the bite of the Apple logo, symbolizing both Jobs' departure and lingering presence at the core of the company.

Man Drops Wallet In Manhole, Gets Stuck

A Ceres man dropped his wallet inside a manhole and got stuck trying to fetch it, police said. Jared Medeiros, 21, was in head first when Ceres police discovered two legs flailing in the air Friday. When police tried to pull him out, his waist wouldn’t budge from the tunnel. The fire department had to assist to pull him out. When they did, about 40 minutes had passed. They assessed his medical condition and found some minor scrapes and contusions. Police said he was slightly intoxicated but not impaired.

It was an awesome example of nature’s power on a stormy night in London. As this flight came into Heathrow, a jagged bolt of lightning smashed into the roof, right above the pilots’ heads. The powerful jolt of electricity passed right through the body of the Airbus A380 before shooting out to continue its journey to the ground.
