Local Mom Takes on Carjackers to Save Baby

The Riverside County Sheriff's Dept. said two suspects punched the woman and maced her as she tried to get her child out of the truck.

They struck her in the head a couple of times and demanded the keys to her 2002 Chevrolet truck, sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Smith told the Press Enterprise.

The woman, whose name was not released, refused until she removed her baby from a car seat.

After she handed over the keys, one of the suspects sprayed her in the face with Mace and the teens drove away in the truck.

It was only about 30 minutes later that police officers in Riverside spotted the vehicle at Indiana Ave. and Myers St.
