Police say they were called to Buena High School around 12:55 p.m. Wednesday after school officials reported an explosion in the cafeteria.

A 15-year-old female student suffered minor irritation and redness to her right leg as a result of the blast, the Ventura County Star reported.

The student was treated at the scene by a school nurse.

A second device later exploded in a planter outside the cafeteria.

Police arrested a 15-year-old male student who had apparently studied how to make the bombs and got the materials from home.
