Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Crashes in San Bernardino Desert

ADELANTO, Calif. -- The Air Force is reporting that one of its unmanned MQ-9 Reaper aircraft has crashed in a sparsely populated area in San Bernardino.

The remotely piloted plane went down at 11:45 a.m. PDT Wednesday at El Mirage Dry Lake, about one mile north of the El Mirage Airfield.

The RPA was flying a test mission and launched from Gray Butte Airfield located about 5 miles east of El Mirage.

Both airfields are about midway between Palmdale and Victorville and are about 15 miles south of Edwards AFB.

No injuries or property damage have been reported.
