According to the charges, Robertson was allegedly among seven people who kidnapped a 14-year-old girl, forced into prostitution and made to dance at a Corpus Christi strip club, authorities said.
The sex-trafficking ring was reportedly consisted of Racquel Mcintosh, Murtuza K. Bhavnagerwala, Behzad Mehrinfar, Leslie Roy Campbell, Marques A. Callaway, Jack August Zimmerle and Alvin Robertson.
Robertson was arrested Friday in Bentonville, Arkansas, said Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy Ino Badillo.
The investigation began last April when a 14-year-old girl stopped a police cruiser in Corpus Christi and told authorities she had been kidnapped from San Antonio, Badillo said. She told police she was forced to have sex with various men in San Antonie and then was taken to Corpus Christi and forced to dance topless at the strip club "Club Cheetah". The girl managed to escaped while her alleged captor, Leslie Roy Campbell, was showering. The 49-year-old man, of Corpus Christi, pleaded guilty last month to sexual assault of a child.
Robertson is charged with sexual assault of a child and sexual performance of a child. He is thought by investigators to have engaged in sex with the girl, but he is also described as a “facilitator,” indicating he was more involved in forcing the girl into prostitution more than other ring members.
Robertson’s girlfriend, Racquel McIntosh, 41, is charged with sexual performance of a child and trafficking of persons under 18 for prostitution and is under arrest in this case..
Robertson, who played for the Spurs, Bucks, Pistons and Raptors, scored more than 10,000 points and averaged 14 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5 assists and 2.7 steals per game in his career, according to statistics on Basketball-Reference.com.
