Away.com, an all-encompassing travel site with more than two million pages of content cataloguing almost 50,000 destinations worldwide, blends expert travel advice with consumer content to help their millions of visitors make informed decisions on their future travel plans. One of their contributing experts, Kendra Bailey Morris, boasts an impressive background as a published author, renowned chef instructor, restaurant critic, newspaper columnist, television and radio personality, food and travel writer and more. Morris regularly contributes food and travel articles to Away.com and her well-informed opinion, especially in regards to the culinary arts, holds great weight as an expert within the community. A self-proclaimed “foodie” that relishes in traveling solely to discover new tastes, Morris has traveled the world many times over, experiencing the local cuisine of hundreds of destinations – Morris’s high regard of Bangkok, Thailand cuisine to be the world’s best is no small matter.

Morris eloquently highlights Bangkok’s vast diversity of tastes, ranging from “lightly charred satays to pungent noodle dishes to simple, crispy wontons.” As an internationally-acclaimed tourist destination, Bangkok has access to almost every sort of taste a refined palate could ever desire, regardless of the time of day. There’s no other stop like Thailand for the adventurous eater, where shark’s fin, white ant eggs and even scorpion is readily available. In a city that is up all night – with the best food making its appearance after hours in the least likely places, like Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road – the Tourism Authority of Thailand hopes that the allure of seeking out Thailand’s delicious treasures will draw other culinary-focused travel to Thailand this year.
