Iowa Governor Culver seeks agriculture disaster declaration for Iowa

Culver has asked U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack for the declaration for crop losses from storms between May 15 and July 31.

If granted, the declaration will expand eligibility for additional USDA assistance.

The counties are Allamakee, Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Clarke, Clay, Clayton, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Howard, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Van Buren, Wapello, Wayne and Winneshiek.
