Report: Subaru BRZ to make full concept debut in LA

The rear-wheel drive sports car collaboration between Toyota and Subaru has been causing a big stirrup across auto news desks all over the world. So far though, we’ve seen concepts, ideas of what the car may possibly be like when people get a chance to spend money on one. And the only concrete details are that it’s definitely going to be rear-wheel drive.

Some new information however has been released about how an iteration of Subaru’s full concept version of the project will debut at the 2011 L.A. Auto Show in November. The companies have an agreement not to show a single production body panel until the cars debut at Tokyo in December. Hence, why we’ve seen so many concepts of the Toyota FT-86, FT-86 II, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.

However, that’s all that could be said about the project so far. Still, the rumors remain that the car will be powered by a 2.0L direct-injected naturally aspirated flat-four that’s good for 200hp. It’s an engine that will most likely use Toyota’s port and direct injection system on Subaru block heads.

It’s also rumored that an entry-level Scion is also in the works to help broaden the car’s reach.
