Executive Producer of the Free Speech Coalition Diane Duke said that the Canoga Park-based porn industry trade group asked the industry to have a moratorium on production Monday until further testing could be conducted.
Duke's group learned that a performer may be infected Saturday, but did not offer details as to how her group was alerted.
Duke did not release the name, age or gender of the performer, citing medical privacy laws.
According to Duke, all production companies agreed to the temporary shutdown, and any performers that may have had sexual contact with the possibly infected performer are undergoing testing.
State and Los Angeles County health officials had not received any reports of new cases of HIV among adult film performers Monday, officials said. Duke said that was because the performer had undergone testing in another state, though she wouldn't specify which state.
