Lakers' Artest thinking globally

Word came recently that Los Angeles Lakers veteran forward Ron Artest would spend the NBA lockout playing in Finland or England. The plan for the latter, ESPN Los Angeles reports, was to film a movie there while playing some ball.

However, Artest's agent, David Bauman, told his client that neither one of those country's has good enough leagues for his client, the site reports. "England is probably the 10th or 12th best league in Europe," Bauman said, according to the site. "That isn't going to make sense. If we do Europe, it's going to be Israel, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Italy or maybe France. ... When we spoke about the lockout, Ron said, 'Find me the best teams.'"

Japan and China are also on Bauman's list, the site notes.
