Citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for pulling the plug on their 25-year marriage, Shriver is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple's minor children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. (She and Schwarzenegger are also parents to 21-year-old Katherine and 19-year-old Christina.)
Also in the divorce documents -- filed by her attorney Laura Wasser -- Shriver asks for attorneys' fees and spousal support.
Schwarzenegger, 63, and Shriver, 55, secretly split earlier this year after his shocking admission: That the former California governor had fathered a child over ten years ago with a longtime member of the couple's household staff, housekeeper Mildred Baena; Shriver moved out of the family's Brentwood, L.A. home, and the couple announced their separation in early May.

"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family," the actor said in a statement. "There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."
