On Monday Selig rejected a proposed $3 billion television-rights deal between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Fox, effectively negating a post-divorce property agreement reached by owner Frank McCourt and his ex-wife, Jamie. The announcement set the stage for a potential legal battle between Frank McCourt and the league over control of the team.

A spokesman for Frank McCourt called Selig's decision "potentially destructive to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Major League Baseball." Steve Susman said McCourt and his attorneys "plan to explore vigorously our options and remedies."
